Welcome
Welcome to our website. We hope you find it informative and easy to use. It uses software developed in Wales (of course) to make it easy for anyone to contribute items of interest. If you wish to contribute, you need to become a Member of the website, which is different to being a member of the Society. To become a member, click on the link to the left in the Login box. If you have problems, send us a message via the Contact Webmaster link to the left. You do not need to be a member to simply browse the website. John & Julie

News
A big thank you
ActivitiesMembers of the Welsh Society recently helped Kira Mosley, a theatre student, to (in her words) "learn more about the Welsh people, language and accent for my accent and dialect class". She has now written the following thank you note:

Hi There!

This is just a short note to say thankyou to everyone at the WA Welsh Society for helping me with my accent and dialect project! I really appreciated your welcoming me at your society meeting, and for allowing me to speak with so many fascinating and friendly people! I am particularly thankful to Ann and Odwyn Jones for welcoming me into their home and for introducing me to other members of the Society.

I presented my project last week, singing Ar Hyd Y Nos and presenting a monologue from Under Milk Wood, and it all went very well! If anyone's interested, the entire class will be performing all our songs and monologues in various accents in October, and I hear that Under Milk Wood will be performed next year, so all your help will be put to good use!

Thanks again! Please pass on my best wishes to everyone at the Society!

Can anyone identify this?
Member's News
Bill Lee, a former member, recently sent us the following message asking for help:

Hi John, I am a past member of the society, had to resign as I could not drive in the dark.

I have an Item that I would like Identified,I have heard mention of it at the club,it is as follows.

carved out of wood, several hearts with a Daffodil at the top, It was given to me by my late sister-in-law who had one herself and had a friend carve one for me when I was on holidays in Penarth some years ago. I am sure that it has some significance to the Welsh I think that I can remember Odwyn discussing it at one stage.

I am still a member of the South Perth Bowling [Life Member Past President]I do not speak Welsh and came from Newport 55years ago,I still like to read your Website.

Regards Bill

I have Bill's phone number & email address if anyone needs it.
